Frank Binder

Frank Binder is Executive Director, International Supply Chain, at pharmaceutical company Celgene, based in Celgene’s international headquarters at Boudry, Neuchâtel. His focus is on growing and managing Celgene’s international Supply Chain, optimizing the European distribution network while expanding the distribution network across Asia and the Middle East. He is guided by his team’s mission statement “Products to the Patients – Every Time, On Time – Compliant & Cost-effective”.

Prior to his current role, Frank has worked in various Supply Chain roles at Hoffmann-La Roche, Novartis and at management consultancy Accenture. Thereby he’s gained a broad and deep Supply Chain Management expertise, spanning production, strategic capacity planning, logistics at a manufacturing site, and finally international logistics and distribution. He is regularly invited to speak at major industry conferences in Europe, USA and Asia.

Frank holds a doctorate (Dr. phil. nat.) in Chemistry from University of Berne, having done his doctoral research in physical chemistry. He has a multicultural background and is fluent in several languages (English, French, German, Spanish), and has significant experience in managing projects across multiple countries in Europe, Asia and in the US.

Robert D. Klassen

Robert D. Klassen
is the Associate Dean, Faculty Development and Research, and Magna International Inc. Chair in Business Administration at the Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada.  Klassen’s research explores the multi-faceted linkages between the natural environment, social issues and firm performance, termed the triple bottom line, with a particular emphasis on the pivotal role of supply chains. 

He has over 40 refereed publications, including widely cited articles in such journals as Journal of Operations Management, Management Science, Academy of Management Journal, Production and Operations Management,and International Journal of Operations and Production Management.  At Ivey, he has taught the core Operations Management course in the MBA and EMBA programs, as well as electives in Sustainable Development, Services Management, and Technology Management.

He has co-authored two textbooks, and written over 30 teaching cases and simulation exercises in the areas of operations strategy, process analysis, and sustainability.

Richard Strohmeier

Longines Watches Ltd – Chief Financial Officer

Richard Strohmeier is Chief Financial Officer of Longines Watches Ltd, with Headquarters in St-Imier, canton of Bern, Switzerland. Founded in 1832, Longines is part of the Swatch Group, the world’s largest watchmaking Group with gross sales exceeding CHF 9.2 billions in 2014. After 10 years of tremendous growth, Longines is (in value) now among the top 4 Swiss watch brands and the leader in its price segment. Its products are distributed in over 120 countries through a network of 35 subsidiaries or independent distributors serving 4’200 Multibrand  and 190 Monobrand stores.  

Richard joined the Swatch Group at Omega in 1997 and has since worked in marketing and finance within several Group companies. He was appointed Chief Group Controller in 2001 and moved to Longines in 2005. He is a member of the Group investment committee since 2005.

In his current function at Longines, Richard is in charge of Longines Profit Center finances (including 35 foreign divisions) and holds also direct responsibility for Supply Chain (including sales planning, logistics and purchasing) as well as for the company information technology.
Richard holds a degree in management (Lic. Rer. Pol) from the University of Zurich, with elective in finance and operations. He is a member of the parliament (Conseil Général) of the city of Neuchâtel.
